Make Your Own Antique! Paper Clay Workshop

On October 26th, the Heritage Museum of Asian Art hosted the "Make Your Own Antique!" Paper Clay Workshop, an engaging hands-on experience where participants created their own mini sculptures inspired by the museum’s exquisite collection. The workshop was led by Cai Shuo, a painter and sculptor whose work draws deeply from Chinese religious and folkloric traditions.

Attendees of all ages explored an easy and fun crafting technique using paper clay, molding and customizing their sculptures based on inspiration from the museum's galleries and insights shared by Cai Shuo. Participants enjoyed painting and decorating their clay creations, drawing inspiration from ancient artifacts and antiques on display. This creative and educational experience allowed visitors to connect with cultural heritage through the tactile and imaginative process of sculpture-making.

No prior art experience was required, making the event accessible and enjoyable for everyone—from seasoned art lovers to first-time creators. The workshop encouraged participants to explore their creativity while learning about traditional Chinese artistic influences in a fun and welcoming environment.
