The Ultimate Netsuke Bibliography is a comprehensive listing of more than 4,400 published items covering all aspects of Japanese netsuke, the miniature carvings which were used by Japanese men in the 17th to 19th centuries to suspend various items from the sash belt that fastened their kimonos. TUNB is organized into fifteen major categories that are sub-divided into Books, Book Sections, Netsuke Journal Articles, and Other Periodicals. Included are items published in both English and other languages. Eleven appendices cover statistics, glossaries, historical data, addresses, and how to build your own netsuke library. Also included are four indices: Author, Periodical, Place, and Subject.
