About the event
This one-time workshop is designed for absolute beginners and introduces practical Japanese phrases along with cultural insights that participants can use immediately. Participants will learn basic greetings such as how to say hello, thank you, excuse me, and please, as well as practice introducing themselves in Japanese, including sharing their name, nationality, and simple personal details. The workshop will also cover numbers and counting from 1 to 100, provide an introduction to the three Japanese writing systems—Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji—and offer an overview of major Japanese cultural celebrations such as Oshogatsu, Hinamatsuri, and other traditional events.
This is a trial class for the museum to explore approaches to language learning that integrate art and cultural elements. All participants will receive an $8 museum gift shop voucher after completing a survey.
