SPECIAL SALE

10% off all gift shop purchases throughout November and December.
Many of the items in the Heritage Museum of Asian Art (HMAA) gift shop were generously donated by founder Jeffrey Moy, originating from his former gift store, House of Buddha, in Chicago’s Chinatown (1960s–1980s).
At HMAA, we approach the gift shop not simply as a retail space, but as an extension of the museum’s collection. We actively seek thoughtful stewards, individuals who value art, culture, and history, to become the next caretakers of these objects. Prices are often set low, because we believe that these items should continue their cultural journey. We approach our shop as a form of fundraising rooted in cultural circulation rather than purely commercial exchange.

LET'S
BUILD
TOGETHER
Through October 23, the Heritage Museum of Asian Art welcomed 4,549 visitors (nearly 60% more than in 2025) and presented 12 exhibitions and 91 events. We also hosted 26 tours for 816 participants and supported 20 youth interns.
In 2027, we’ll continue this work with exhibitions and programs exploring the histories of Chicago artists, Asian art traditions, immigrant experiences, and hands-on learning. 8 exhibitions are already planned, along with almost 100 workshops, lectures, festivals, and community gatherings. We also aim to support 24 youth interns.
Will you make a year-end gift to help make this programming possible? Your support helps HMAA bring artists and educators into the museum and keep exhibitions, learning, and cultural exchange accessible.
