Join us for an engaging introduction to the beauty, history, and craftsmanship of jade—one of the world’s most treasured materials. As part of HMAA’s commitment to making art accessible to our community, this class offers an approachable and immersive experience for all learners.

In this session, you’ll explore the history and value of jade, learn how it differs from other gemstones, study works from the museum’s collection, and see jade stones and carving techniques up close.

About the Instructor:

Jun Wan graduated from the Department of Geology at Peking University, specializing in Rock and Mineralogy. As Director of the Jewellery Department at Guardian International Auction Co., Ltd., she established China’s first domestic jewelry and jadeite auction. She later founded the first professional jadeite club in mainland China, where she organized lectures and courses on jadeite…
