Jade predates oracle bone inscriptions and bronze ware, which are vital sources of Chinese cultural and artistic heritage. During the Neolithic period, notable cultures such as the Hemudu, Yangshao, and Xinglongwa emerged, each contributing to the rich tapestry of jade culture. The influence of jade culture extends across various facets of Chinese life, including religion, philosophy, art, politics, military, and economy.
